Working Together

NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and NHS Devon Integrated Care Boards have set up a joint committee, which oversees both organisations to ensure they operate effectively and efficiently.

Building on a history of collaboration across Devon and Cornwall

There is a rich history of collaboration, both within our borders and beyond, including:

  • Peninsula Acute Provider Collaborative – brings together the NHS in Devon and Cornwall to improve acute services
  • Peninsula Pathology NHS Network – serves Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
  • Devon and Cornwall Care Record – brings together patient data from a number of health and social care providers and presents it as a single record
  • Peninsula Major Trauma Network – covers Devon and Cornwall and consists of an adult Major Trauma Centre at Derriford Hospital (Plymouth) and four Trauma Units at North Devon District Hospital (Barnstaple), Royal Cornwall Hospital (Truro), Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Exeter) and Torbay Hospital (Torbay).
  • More than 25% of patients at University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust come from Cornwall
  • The Peninsula National Institute for Health and Care Research Applied Research Collaboration (PenARC) – supports applied health and care research across the NHS and local authorities in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset
  • The South West Provider Collaborative – partnership of mental health organisations across Cornwall, Devon, Avon, Wiltshire, Somerset, and Gloucestershire, including NHS trusts, independent sector organisations and a community interest company
  • Devon and Cornwall Police (also part of a ‘strategic alliance’ with Dorset Police)
